In times past, present traditional wedding favors of chocolate or candy in tulle or small boxes networks existed.
But in today's brides have become creative with their edible wedding favors, entertainment where I now do a variety of edible favors for the bride is that something else is available.
Edible favors these days ranging from sugar-coated candies, gummy bears, chocolates, candies, cookies and even heart-shaped miniaturewedding cakes. All can be wrapped up in a number of ways or presented in personalized wrappers. Of course savvy brides who want to be bang on trend will set up a candy bar at their reception so guests can help themselves to their own wedding favors.
Of course, for traditional brides there is still a wide choice for sugared almonds in a range of wedding colors. Candy covered almonds come in pink, blue, peach, white, ivory, pearlized colors & even silver & gold. Traditional Jordan almonds are also available, along with chocolate coated versions. Presenting these in pretty tiered, multi-colored bomboniere nets also gives your guests are talking point on the day.
Foiled chocolate hearts in a range of colors are another popular choice, particularly if some of the guests have nut allergies. These pretty hearts come in various sizes & there is also candy coated versions as an alternative. They look lovely presented in small favor boxes or cellophane bags. Another suggestion is to scatter them around the table or leave some in small bowls so guests can help themselves.
In recent years cookies have been a hot wedding trend. The range of shapes & icing colors & designs make them popular for any kind of wedding, formal or casual. Monogrammed versions with the couples initials iced in a stylish font are a popular choice, along with traditional wedding shapes like wedding cakes, hearts, bridal gowns & even doves. If budget is an issue, making your own cookies favors is a cheap alternative. Wrap them in clear cellophane bags to protect them, but still allow your guests to see what they are.
Mini cakes are a popular choice, but you will need a good size budget for your wedding favors to afford them. They aren't particularly cheap, but they do look impressive & by giving your guests mini cakes as wedding favors, will allow you to save on having a large wedding cake instead. Have them iced in your wedding colors, with your monogram on the top.
If you choose chocolates as your wedding favors, be mindful of the time of year in which your wedding will take place. A pile of melted chocolate will impress no-one! If you really want to give out chocolate favors in hot weather, arrange for them to be stored some where cool or chilled & either hand them out personally or ask your flower girls & page boys to do it for you.
Small sweets, candies or chocolates don't have to be restricted to wedding favors. They make nice additions to your centerpieces when piled high in pretty glass bowls so your guests can help themselves, or add a few to a different type of wedding favors as an edible accompaniment.
Whatever your choice of edible wedding favor, make sure it will coordinate with your wedding theme, style & colors. Put an equal amount of thought into the packaging & presentation of your favors, as they are a token of thanks to your guests for joining you in such a special occasion. Add in a thank you tag or a small personal note to convey the gesture.
